Metal royalty Metallica achieved something no other band has done: playing live on every single continent on Earth. In December 2013, Metallica performed a concert in Antarctica, completing their quest to rock all seven continents. The show was arranged for contest winners from various countries — scientists at a nearby research station were also invited.
The concert in Antarctica was performed at reduced volume using headphones (to protect the environment) and was technically named 'Freeze 'Em All' (a play on their album 'Kill 'Em All'). Metallica is also the only band to have sold over 125 million records worldwide and have had chart-topping albums in six consecutive decades.
